How to improve the effectiveness of digital advertising
General guideline for a higher effectiveness of investments in digital marketing platforms
I’m glad to be writing to you again guys, I felt it is time for a new post. I’m writing on a train ride to some time off after a few challenging months.
Today’s topic is about increasing the effectiveness of your digital marketing investments, which is vital for companies.
You can have the best advertising agency or consultant working for you, but as long as your digital platform is not built with latest technologies and your pricing is not updated on a monthly or weekly basis (you can even go forward with daily pricing update as in some markets the prices change almost everyday) your budgets will not return your expected results. Because of this we will go through a small list of vital factors that will influence your outcome.
How the platform is built: if you chose a platform like WordPress to build your platform, your mobile version of the website is probably crying right now. Choosing to build your platform from scratch, for example me and my team develop platforms in REACT which offers unbeatable performance, will give you a platform that is loved by search engines and users. Not only you will have better results, both organic and paid traffic, but you will invest less money overall in your platform. I have seen lots of companies that regret choosing WordPress or like solutions, because when they asked me why their current strategy doesn’t work I just showed them their mobile version which is hard to use and watch, sorry guys!
Optimizing your platform from a SEO perspective: I have talked about SEO in a post in the past and I pointed that SEO means much more than only some keywords inserted in a text. The design, loading time and overall technical performance of the platform is much more important than a keyword. That is why you should build your platforms from scratch, you can edit every aspect of your platform.
Update your prices periodically according to the evolution of the market: keep an eye out to your competitors and to the supply and demand, also check the traffic overall volume for a selection of keywords important for your business using Keyword Planner in Google Ads.
Use a data driven strategy: after launching your platform and starting investments in marketing, use an analytics solution, such as Google Analytics (I personally am currently unhappy that Google decided to put Google Analytics UA down, GA4 being overcomplicated for no reason, I will use UA until it’s last day, 1st of July, good rest old partner) and see what your users do on your website and according to their behavior change your strategy continuously.
I hope this post helped you. Me and my team currently work on some custom projects for a few customers, so this information is fresh and tested in practice. Feel free to reach out to me for any question.
This was youngCEO, good luck everyone.
